Bill Richardson announced yesterday that he was entering the race for the Democratic nomination. Along with Clinton and Obama, the Dem’s slate is looking more like an advertisement for Minorities-R-Us each month.
I never thought that I would see this in my lifetime; a slate of candidates, serious candidates, that I have at least something in common with (at least in terms of race and genitalia with Clinton and Obama).
So why am I not excited?

You are probably not excited because you know that despite all of the diversity on display, America is still not ready for anyone but a white man - no matter how dumb, immoral or unqualified they are.
I’m with Qusan on this point. However, I am excited at the mere fact that we have come as far as allowing minorities and women to actually pursue their presidential dreams. I never thought I’d see that in my lifetime, so - albeit small - progress is being made.
Qusan - > Well folks are hollering that Obama is a black man that “white folks can vote for.”
Whatever.:-)
E! - > But is this really progress? Neither Clinton nor Obama have lit my fire. As a matter of fact, Obama has something on his site that scares me: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/healthcare/
Scroll down to “Genomics.”
To me, it seems as if the same Washington bull is being repackaged in colorful wrapping paper.
After reading Obama’s website, Rash - I can fully understand your point. I had to laugh at the “making prescriptions drugs cheaper”… they’ve been saying that since the first Bush got in office.
