From Media Guardian: News on the virtual second
Sky News and 4 Radio aim to seize new audiences by creating a media presence on the Second Life platform, which boasts about six million users
I’m not sure about the average age of the Second Life user, but Sky and 4 Radio may want to check out this post on Techcrunch.
And I thought I was crazy, Wired’s article on Firefox bloat proves that I’m not (at least in this case).
Anecdotal reports of problems, from sluggishness to slow page loads and frequent crashes, have begun circulating in web forums, along with increasingly loud calls for Firefox to return to its roots. The alleged culprit: bloat, the same problem that once plagued Mozilla, the slow, overstuffed open-source browser spawned by Netscape that Firefox was originally meant to replace.
I’ve been increasingly unhappy with Firefox over the past couple of months on my Mac. It’s sluggish as the article said and is slow to start up. I thought it was just me.
Ubuntu Studio is out. Finally. I haven’t had the chance to play with it yet. I’ve been too busy trying to get Ubuntu 7.04 to install. It won’t due to problem with it playing nice with my display (yet again) so I’m sticking to 6.10 for right now. Some reviewers weren’t too impressed with US.
Added to blogroll: Kristi’s site - Hey Kristi, thanks for hipping me to Illustration Friday - and Tinman.

Rash - I skipped over 6.10 and I decided to install Feisty Fawn on my hubby’s PPC / G4. It works like a dream. I’m having issues with my Canoscan lide 20 scanner, but I will work through it. The wireless is working great and it seems a bit faster. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. Oh and thanks for the link to Ubuntu Studio. I’m totally excited.
