The Georgia Legislature is considering a bill to let him be sentenced with today’s guidelines. When it passes, he’ll get out. There’s been such an outcry that it’ll pass. Should have never been against the law to start with and that young man should have never gone to jail.
This relates to Georgia’s hard line against sodomy. If he’d had intercourse with the girl, it’d have just been a misdemeanor.
If straight people knew that sodomy laws applied to them, most would be against the government interfering in people’s sex lives.
There was another case a few years back where 2 teenage boys were caught having sex. The older one went to jail for 10-15 years, if they had been opposite sex, he’d have gotten less than one year.
Why are we allowing the legislatures to pass laws against natural human behaviour?
You made a good point: “If straight people realized…”
We’re allowing legislatures to pass laws agains natural human behavior because we’re lazy. We don’t get upset until something directly applies to us. It’s sad, but a reality.
