Hope you’re having a swell holiday, no matter which one you observe. The photo above shows our first Christmas tree. We named him Irwin (or “Erwin”).
Wait a second, that’s not our first. It’s our first in our own home.
Christmas Eve was pretty uneventful, but pleasant just the same. I gave the hub the German version of The Tremor of Forgery by Pamela Highsmith for Christmas.
The hub gave me Evolutionary Witchcraft by T. Thorn Coyle, Twelve Wild Swans by Starhawk, four volumes of the Diary of Anais Nin and her biography by Deidre Bair. I’d already read the bio but it’s nice to have a copy of it anyway.
He didn’t stop there. Also under the tree were Women of the African Ark calendar , the accompanying book, Faces of Africa, and various versions of Linux to keep me busy on my new Windows machine.
After we opened our gifts we spent the evening decorating the tree. To add to the holiday spirit, I whipped up two Winter Solstic / Yule recipes from Circle Round: Mother Winter’s Wish Bread and Chocolate Press Cookies. The cookies were so-la-la but the bread…lawd hammercy…the bread was wonderful!
In just a little over a month I’ll be 35 and I’ve finally learned how to cook.:-)
